Someone to Plead for Us

Exodus 32, Ezekiel 22, Romans 3

Pastor Brandon Current  | March 29, 2015

All of us have brought God’s wrath onto ourselves.  There was nothing we could do for ourselves.  God sent Christ on our behalf so that we would not be destroyed. Jesus became what humanity had not produced:  a perfect sacrifice to atone for our sins, a man to stand in the gap.

John 11:21-27, 40-44; Matthew 28:1-9

Pastor Brandon Current  | April 5, 2015

There is forgiveness and eternal life for all who repent and put their trust in Jesus' death and resurrection.

Remembering the Death of Christ

Luke 22:14-20

Pastor Brandon Current  | March 20, 2016

Jesus fulfilled the symbols of the Passover meal from the Old Covenant and instituted a new meal for the New Covenant. We come together weekly to share in the remembrance of the historical and physical reality of Jesus’ work on our behalf to bear the punishment for our sins, and to wash us in his blood. The Lord’s Supper serves the purpose of nourishing us spiritually, deepening our fellowship, setting forth the testimony of our cleansing, and proclaiming the gospel.

Remembering the Resurrection of Christ

Acts 20:7-12

Pastor Brandon Current  | March 27, 2016

Jesus fulfilled the symbols of the Sabbath rest from the Old Covenant and instituted a new day of memorial for the New Covenant. We come together weekly to share in the remembrance of the historical and physical reality of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead to conquer death for all who have died to sin that they might have new life in him. The Lord’s Day serves the purpose of corporate nourishment from the Word; gathering in fellowship, worship, and giving; setting forth the testimony of our membership in the body of Christ, and proclaiming the hope of the resurrection of believers.

The Great and Terrible Exchange

2 Corinthians 5:17-21

Pastor Brandon Current  |  April 9, 2017

Christ went to the cross both to take and to give. He took all our sin, and its deserved punishment on himself. He gave us all of his righteousness so that we lack nothing to stand perfect before the Father. The wonderful result of this exchange is that we have been reunited to our Creator. This work is fully finished; no part remains for us to do for ourselves or for God to do in us.

Because He Lives

1 Corinthians 15:1-20

Pastor Brandon Current  |  April 16, 2017

All our hope as Christians hangs on the resurrection of Christ. Because of Christ’s resurrection from the grave, death and sin are defeated forever for all who believe this gospel.

Hope Grows Where The Seed Was Planted

1 Corinthians 15:35-58

Pastor Brandon Current | April 1, 2018

Christ’s resurrected body was demonstrated to those who were witnesses, so that we might have an assured hope of the real, physical, yet new and unimaginable bodies we will have for the enjoyment of eternity.
