Title:  Love and Hope from Jesus

Text:  John 13-17

Sermon Summary:   

1. Jesus shows His wonderful love and gives us powerful 

    reasons to love Him.

    A. Loved to the uttermost. 13: 1.

    B. Comforted apostles even though Peter would deny and

         the others would leave Him alone. 13:38, 14:1, 18:8

    C. Would lay down His life. 15:13

2.  Jesus wants our love and this raises questions for us to 

     ask ourselves.

      A. Do I love Jesus with all my heart?  21:15.

      B. Am I focused on Obeying Him?  14:15, 23

      C. Do I love other people like Jesus Loves me? 

          15:12-14, 17?

      D. Do I know Jesus closely and personally? 14:20

      E. Do I want to be like Jesus? 14:20

           Galatians 5:22, 23; Galatians 2:20

           Roman's 8:29, 1 John 3:2

      F. Let us not be just church members, let us be real 

          disciples of Jesus!

3. If we are real disciples, we have a Treasure of Blessings.

      A. God's Mercies new every morning.

           GREAT IS HIS FAITHFULNESS

            Lamentations 3:22,2

      B. Joy 15:11, 16:20, 22

      C. Peace 16:33

      D. The Holy Spirit 14:26, 16:7f

      E. Victory in Jesus who has overcome the world. 16:33

Let us Love and obey Jesus and be like Him and go forth praising God with Great Joy!
