Matthew 21:23-27

The religious leaders did not receive Jesus because they rejected John the Baptist as the Forerunner. Jesus unmasks their ignorance and their impotence with a question and thereby strips them of their authority to question him. As the Spirit moves us in wisdom, we will be ready for every opportunity to stand for Christ. Often this will be through revealing the gaps in the questioner’s own worldview. Ultimately, we must point people to the Scriptures which are the forerunner we must receive in order to receive Christ.
