To John's disciples Jesus says, "I am the Messiah. Don't miss it.” To the Pharisees Jesus says, "Your system of religion cannot be retooled or tweaked. It must be abandoned” To us Jesus says, "It is the time of fasting. Not to display or obtain righteousness, but in yearning for the fullness of the Kingdom of God in and around us.
