Matthew 5:31-32

Divorce is nearly as old as marriage. Though provision was made for it under the law, sinful hearts rush to it as an escape from the difficulty of marriage conflict or dissatisfaction. Christ teaches that the expectation of the citizens of his Kingdom is that they have faithful, thriving marriages and not look for a way out of their marriages. Ultimately, just like lust in the heart, divorce is a form of adultery.
